About Stitch Circle
Stitch Circle exists because finding a good seamstress shouldn’t be this hard.
Whether you’re looking for a seamstress, tailor, cobbler, or embroiderer — Stitch Circle helps you find the right provider in your area.
Right now, if you need a pair of trousers hemmed, a wedding dress taken in, or a favourite jacket repaired, your options are limited: ask friends, scroll through Google Maps results mixed with dry cleaners and shoe repairers, or hope that the person you find on Facebook actually replies.
Meanwhile, thousands of talented seamstresses, tailors, and alteration specialists across Australia are working from home studios, small shops, and local workrooms — doing brilliant work that most people will never find because they don’t have a big marketing budget or a shopfront on the high street.
Stitch Circle bridges that gap. We’re a free community directory that makes it easy for customers to find local alterations, sewing, and repair providers, and easy for providers to be found.
Why We’re Free
We believe the people doing the sewing shouldn’t have to pay to be found. Stitch Circle is funded by industry sponsors — sewing brands, fabric retailers, and fashion industry partners who want to support the local sewing community. Providers never pay to list. Customers never pay to search. That’s the model, and it won’t change.
Our Story
Stitch Circle was founded in 2026 by someone who spent years working in the clothing alterations industry in NSW. After seeing the same problem from both sides — customers struggling to find skilled providers, and talented seamstresses, tailors, cobblers, and embroiderers struggling to find customers — the idea was simple: one dedicated place where the two could connect.
Not a marketplace. Not a booking platform. Just an honest directory built by someone who understands the trade.
Starting with NSW and growing nationally, Stitch Circle is building the community that the Australian alterations industry has never had.
What We’re Not
- We’re not a marketplace. We don’t take commissions or process payments.
- We’re not a booking platform. Providers handle their own bookings their own way.
- We don’t display pricing. Every job is different — pricing belongs in the conversation between customer and provider.
- We’re not a review site. Customers can recommend providers they’ve had a great experience with, but there are no written reviews or negative ratings.
Our Values
- Community first — Stitch Circle exists to support the people who keep our clothes fitting well. We’re not a marketplace taking a cut. We’re a directory connecting people.
- Quality matters — Every listing is manually reviewed before it goes live. We want you to feel confident when you contact someone through Stitch Circle.
- Honest and transparent — No hidden fees, no paid rankings, no fake reviews. What you see is what you get.
